Introduction from Imam Ibn Qayyim’s Al-Wabil As-Sayyib Min Al-Kalim At-Tayyib
Compiled and Translated by Shaikh Abu Talhah Dawud Burbank | Salafi Publications
The book before you is a compilation of the works of Shaikh Abū Talhah Dawūd Burbank who passed away in the year 2011 CE — May Allāh have Mercy upon him.
Dhikr from a scholarly view is a remembrance of Allāh by heart, actions of the limbs, actions of the tongue — with all of this entering into the Dhikr of Allāh — doing acts of obedience to Him and keeping away from evil acts of disobedience. It is not restricted to moving the tongue. In Dhikr, there lies more than One-Hundred benefits. From them is that; it pleases the Most Merciful (He, the Mighty and Majestic), strengthens the heart and body, and also brings about Allāh’s Love (Al-Mahabbah), which is the spirit of Islām and the pivot that the whole religion rests upon, and is the basis of a person’s well-being and their salvation.
